This month I decided to post a more personal blog of some of the fun things I got to do!  The month of February has been full of fun trips and lots of snow and one very special birthday of our 7 year old son Max.

Earlier in the month, I took a ski trip with some friends to Breckenridge, CO. I hadn’t been skiing in 13 years! It was like riding a bike and picked it back up like I had just skied the day before.  I loved every minute of the trip. We had a fresh 12 inches of snow, dinners and a ton of laughter with my awesome friends. My friends from high school came up to hang out with us as well!!   Max came with me to Colorado and spent some time with my parents when I was skiing! And I got to spend time with them after everyone went home.

The next weekend, Ryan and I took the boys up to Duck Creek for a family getaway. It had snowed the night before we got there so we had more snow to play in!! The boys loved running, sledding and playing in the snow!

And lastly but most importantly, we celebrated Max turning 7! He got to have a yummy apple pie up in the mountains and on his birthday he got to have a special birthday breakfast party with pancakes and presents!  We love you Maxy and Wish you all the happiness in the world!

Mt. Charleston is one of my favorite places to shoot portraits. There is such a wide variety of places to go with amazing backdrops! This family session was so much fun but also bittersweet as the Curtis family is moving out of Nevada sometime this year. I have been photographing this family for the past 3 years and have loved each session but this particular session was extra special to me as it may be one of our last sessions before they move. Over the past few years, Lynsie and Blake have become our close friends and their sons, Braden and Noah, are best buds with my boys. I feel so blessed to have gotten to share life with this family while they have been in Las Vegas! I guess I am going to have to travel to Washington DC next fall to take their photos there!

I met Autumn and Jason this past fall through Choice center. I was initially drawn to Autumn because of her passion for breastfeeding.  As it turns out, we have a lot more than that in common and we live down the street from each other.  Autumn and Jason wanted a session out at the Dry Lake bed but unfortunately the wind was so strong that day that we had to change our location to the Wetlands. I think their session turned out amazing and hope they love their portraits as much as I do!

Justina happens to be one of my favorite kindergarten teachers! She was my son Max’s teacher last year and really, what is not to love about her! She is such an amazing teacher but is also a beautiful person inside and out! I feel lucky that I was able to photograph her and her daughter as well as her sister’s family the day before Thanksgiving at Floyd Lamb Park! I have so much to be thankful for and one is knowing her and calling her my friend!
