Baby Jake’s momma is a friend and fellow photographer colleague of mine. When she asked me to take some portraits of her new baby,

I was so thrilled to be able to help her capture this sweet little guy!

Her cute little daughter and Jake’s big sister also wanted to get in on the action and I couldn’t be more happy with how this session turned out.

As it turns out, this little girl also decided she wanted to practice being a beautician a few days later, and gave herself a glorious haircut.

Her momma was happy we got a few shots before her hair would take on a drastic change!

  • Rey - I love the simplicity of this shoot! So clean and soft, and beautiful just how I love newborn shoots! Great job my friend!

I met Chelsea when she lived in Las Vegas. The first time I met her was when I was buying one of her vintage chairs for a photoshoot several years ago. We talked for 30 minutes and became instant friends. She was one of the first fellow photographers that I had met that was not only kind but was also not competitive for clients and was super real! She was a breath of fresh air!

Last Summer Chelsea and her family ended up relocating to Arvada Colorado which was sad for the Vegas community. The best news about this was that her relocation was to the small city that I grew up in, so I knew I would see her again as my family still lives there.

This past August my family and I traveled home for a visit to my parents who still live in Arvada and for my high school reunion. I was able to finally get that family photoshoot that we’d been wanting and in my home town! Chelsea is a fun photographer and my kids were so at ease with her! Kira is the 2nd born of 4 girls in her family.  Our session was the first she could remember of ever having her portraits taken. And I can say without a doubt that she loved having the session all to herself.

Down town Las Vegas is such a fun place to take photos and we had so much fun.

It was a little windy but ended up being perfect for her beautiful long hair.  Kira is a beautiful girl, inside and out.  And I just love her freckles!

I met Abbey at a Zenfolio Zoom event last fall.  Her speaking skills and her charismatic personality got my attention right away.  One of the things she touched on then was how she had changed her business completely so that she could spend more time with her family, be more efficient with her time and that she was in a better place from making all these changes.  When I heard about the Evolving Workshop, I knew I had to go.    I contacted her and she just happened to have 1 spot left.  I knew I was meant to be at her workshop and like that spot was meant just for me.

One memorable thing I liked about this workshop is the time that Abbey spent looking over our work, getting to know us before she even met us.  I walked in and she knew my name without me introducing myself.  I was surprised as I have never attended a workshop that the presenter cared enough to know about the people attending the workshop.  These are the same types of things that Abbey does with her clients and why she is so successful. She takes the time to get to know the people she is spending time with and genuinely cares about people she works with.  This was also observed during the stylized shoot when she was conversing with her past clients.  They all cared about what she was doing and wanted to spend time talking to her. You could see the genuine friendships that had been developed.

Abbey and her workshop have changed my perspective on becoming more balanced with my business and with my family.  I appreciate Abbey sharing her knowledge and experiences and I have already starting implementing small changes and have noticed a huge difference with my own children and husband.  I feel like I am seeing and experiencing them in a different light!  Thank you so much for all your wisdom and encouragement Abbey!  I can’t wait to see where my business and life goes in the next few years!! I highly recommend this workshop to all photographers!  Check out her website at www.abbeykyhl.com.
